Monogram Collage Made Out of Wedding Cards

posted on November 28th 2014 in Crafts & Weddings

After our wedding in August I couldn’t bear to throw away all of our thoughtful and beautiful wedding cards. I knew if I threw them in a book I would never look at them again and I wanted to display them in a ┬ámeaningful way. I decided to create a monogram collage and was pleased with the way it turned out! I purchased a 23 inch “M” from The Home Depot and got to work on this very easy craft.

To create something similar in your home, start by cutting out artwork and messages from your wedding cards. Place them throughout your wooden initial and adjust until you’re happy with the layout. Then start gluing! I used mod podge glue, it was very effective. When you’re happy with your final product you can mount it within a shadowbox, or within a plain frame with some colorful matting like I did. I chose to finish the collage with a varnish so I could frame my artwork without any glass.

Have you come up with any creative projects to save your greeting cards? If so, I’d love to hear about it!

Happy crafting!
